ABOUT TZALMON CREEK- geographic beckground

Geographic Background:

Tzalmon creek drains the southern part of Mount Meron. At Tzalmon creek you can see different rock types, geologic replicas, springs, orchards, Archaeological remains, flour mills, and aqueducts.
Along the river there are some concentrations of Bedouin settlement.  Tzalmon Reservoir is also part of the Israeli national water carrier which crosses the river. The beginning of Tzalmon River is at Mount Hillel slope, and the end of Tzalmon River is at the estuary of the Kineret (The Sea of Galilee). When studying the map, you can see that the river flow direction changes. At first the river flows from east to west but later it changes its direction and it flows from west to east. This reversal indicates the effect of river Capture which occurs in the area.
